Hongi's Hikoi - NZ Research & Planning

The Director - Brent Kerehona and Research Assistant - Delise Kerehona undertook a research/planning trip to various museums, institutes and other locations relevant to the Hongi's Hikoi project. They were able to view the third carved bust of Hongi Hika, Waikato's carved powder horn, Hongi's helmet, Waikato's firearm and a portrait of Hongi and Waikato.

Many thanks go out to Chanelle Clarke of the Auckland Museum, Allie Fry of the Whangarei Museum Kiwi North, Hone Sadler of the University of Auckland, and Caitlin Timmer-Arends and Mori Rapana of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, for their generous manaakitanga and assistance with our project.
